PIVOT
Commuting by Human Power

Current trends of commuting to work by car in urban areas affect city dynamics, an individual’s well-being, and the environment. Due to comfort and perceived convenience, it is difficult to convince drivers to change.

By focusing on frame construction, seating and storage in addition to adjustability, comfort, maneuverability, and approachability, the Pivot seeks to attract new users to human power.

This product was created and built by a team of industrial designers at RISD. Surveys, interviews, mock ups and existing product testing were important to the development of the Pivot. My individual contribution included building mock-ups and final prototype, management, presentation preparation and writing.
